Nettlecombe Parish in West Somerset has an electorate of about 150 people. It nestles in the Brendon Hills, straddling the eastern boundary of Exmoor National Park. It is a rural parish made up a series of small hamlets (Woodford, Yarde and Torre) and more isolated individual farms and homes. The parish church is situated within the grounds of Nettlecombe Court. The Court is an Elizabethan manor house which was once the manorial centre of the parish. It is now run as a residential environmental studies centre by the Field Studies Council. The Parish does not have any shops or other services, but is served by the nearby town of Williton.
The Parish Council consists of 7 councillors and is served by a parish clerk. It was last re-elected in May 2003.
