OAKLEY PARISH COUNCIL

Tuesday, 7th March, 2006  

      Present:  Mr R Fennell (Chairman) Mr J Mole (Vice Chairman), Mr. D. Cherry, Mr. A. Finn, Mrs. S. Humphris, Mr D Pearce, Mr G Hopcroft, and 1 parishioner. Highways DepartmentNew signposts ? To be carried out in 2006Potholes ? Highways have advised only urgent patch work will be carried out now until the new financial year.  15 Oxford Road / The Chandos: Potholes have been noted in the pavements outside these properties and reported to Highways for attention.Ditch in Playing Field ? The ditch is now clear and running freely. The spoil will be taken away when the ground dries out over the next few weeks.Oxford Road- An area of path has been damaged and is considered dangerous, Clerk has informed Highways.Village Hall entrance ? two large potholes are noted and will be attended to in the near future. Street LightsFault to light in Ashfield Rise has been reported and attended to. Brill SurgeryClerk to write to Dr. Mitchell to see if the Open Surgery Sessions will continue following the three month trial period, as it is felt they have been very successful. Metal barrier ? Pre School shedDelivery of metal barriers is imminent. Tractor ShedIt was agreed that although the roof is safe, it is letting in a considerable amount of water and does need replacing, Councillors Fennell and Cherry to ascertain costs. Recycling Company, Worminghall RoadClerk to write again to Bucks CC to ascertain the next step in getting this area tidied up and the roads cleaned of mud.Royal Oak Public HouseHaddenham Breweries are looking for a new manager, but in the meantime the Public House will be open for business. SID/Traffic CalmingIt is hoped a meeting can be arranged within the next two weeks to agree with Bucks CC on the gates and dragons teeth at the entryways into the village.  Also to see if BCC will consider putting a weight limit on the Brill Road. Fly tippingClerk to chase AVDC to clear fridge/freezer dumped in the ditch along the Worminghall Road. Oakley C of E Primary School

The Parish Council is to work closely with the Governors of Oakley School to make Oxfordshire County Council change their decision to stop Buckinghamshire children attending their schools for  secondary education.
