1. Life Drawing & Painting

2. Informal Studio
Village Hall Monday mornings. Numbers have recently dropped to only 2-3. Newcomers are very welcome. Do your own thing & have a chat. This group has also organised instructional workshops by local artist Geoff Crabbe. For more info contact Mike Pooley on 771462.
3. Other
Some local artists either work independently, in other small groups &/or attend classes (e.g. Cricklade College, Andover) & workshops further afield. Some give private tuition &/or organise workshops. For more info contact Geoff Townson on 771866 or visit the links on

4. Exhibitions
Two-day exhibitions were held in the Village Hall in 2003 and 2005 (incl. four Open Studios in the village), with work from all the above Penton groups. For more info contact Geoff Townson on 771866 or call at Chapel Lodge, Chalkcroft Lane. Open Studios were held in 2006 and more are booked for 2007 (Hampshire Artists). 5.5. Penton Craft Group An informal handicraft group met in Penton Village Hall on Tuesdays during much of 2005 but has yet to continue in 2006. If you are interested in organising this group please contact Village Hall caretaker on 773221.
