REGULAR HALL EVENTS
The Memorial Hall is in continuous use throughout the year, with many village organisations using the facilities on a regular basis. It is estimated that there are over 250 club members using the Hall regularly and many hundreds of non-club members attend Hall functions on an irregular basis. For example the annual Carol Concert alone attracts an audience of about 200 people. In addition to regular bookings the Memorial Hall is a popular venue for local charity events, private functions (such as wedding and birthday parties) and public meetings (these include Parish Council meetings, General and Local Elections and the Basingstoke & Deane Travel Token distribution). The Committee runs its own events to raise funds and promote community spirit. In a typical year there will be two Jumble Sales, a village fete and produce show (in conjunction with the Gardening Club), four theatre / musical evenings and a carol concert. The theatre / musical evenings are performed by professional artists, include a supper and attract an average audience of 90 people.
