PARISH COUNCIL OF UGLEY

 

 

MINUTES OF THE COUNCIL MEETING HELD FOLLOWING THE A.G.M. IN THE VILLAGE HALL ON MONDAY 20th JUNE 2005 AT 8.14 PM.

 

Present:  Councillors Jean Reay (Chairperson ), David Cross, Betty Francis. Roger Pryor. David Cross ( standing in for clerk ).

 

Also in attendance Anne Marchant ( District Councillor )

 

Apologies: Tony Turner, Nick Shutes.

AGENDA

 

1.Minutes of meeting held 25th April.: Having been circulated they were confirmed as a true record and signed by the Chairperson.

 

2.Matters Arising:

 

a. Local Channel Website. There has been some improvement; we are now able to place the Parish Council Minutes on the site and some other information about events in the Village.

 

B Bus Shelter. It was reported that an estimate had been received and forwarded to the insurers; we are still awaiting a reply.

 

c. Car park Extension. The council was informed that due to difficulties in obtaining planning permission, we would re submit a new application showing a proposed fence along the perimeter of the new car park area next to the sloping land consisting of wood post and wire to be erected in the future. We will at the same time of requesting planning permission submit a plan of the area excluding the sloping land.

 

Roger Pryor informed the Council that the wood piled at the back of the Village Hall is to be burnt in a special container avoiding smoke etc in the near future.

 

d. Seat in Linnets Wood. It was reported that we are still awaiting a reply from the Woodland Trust.

 

e. Lap Top Computer. It is proposed to purchase a Laptop in the near future.

 

4. Planning:

 

Applications.

 

UTT/0938/05/FUL Green Farm Conversion.

UTT/0961/05FUL  Whytemantles House extension.

No objections.

 

 

 

 

5. Finance: Up dating

 

 

6. A.O.B.

 

a. BT Payphone. It was reported that the Phone outside the Village Hall is to be converted from a cash phone to card system.

 

b. SSE £10 Donation. It was agreed to pay this subscription on this occasion.

 

c. It was reported by Betty Francis that a Boat and trailer was parked at the end of Dellows Lane in the road, it was agreed that if this continued that a letter to the owner should be sent as it was causing an obstruction.

 

d. It was reported that the footpath along Batts Row is overgrown with plants from the houses, and with cars parked on the pavement pedestrians have to use the road making it very dangerous.

 

e. Cyril Watts has heard from the Highways Road Division with reference to the Caravans parked on the land in Patmore End Road  near the M11. It is proposed to erect wood posts along the verge to stop the use of this land.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There being no further business the meeting was closed at 8.45 pm.
