Welcome to Rampton

Regia Anglorum

Members of Regia Anglorum staged a splendid re-enactment of Saxon and Medieval activities in the Park over the weekend of 14 & 15 June.

Although cloudy, visitors were informed and entertained by demonstrations of activities of our own forbears - in period costumes and using replica tools and equipment. Cooking, potting, weaving and weapon making could be viewed, as well as an archery competition, skirmishes and a pitched battle!

We are fortunate to have this event taking place in our small village, and what a pity that no local schools appeared to take the opportunity to organize trips for their pupils to see these fascinating activities.

Thanks go to Cambridge Archaeology and members of Regia Anglorum for all their noble efforts.

We look forward to seeing them again next year. If you are interested in discovering more about Regia, go to their website at
