A Parish Council Meeting was held on Tuesday 3 November 2009 at the Village Hall at 7.00 pm.

Budget for 2010/2011: The budget for next year was provisionally set at £10,025 and will be finally ratified at the January 2010 Meeting of the Council. Costs continue to rise on a yearly basis on insurance, grass cutting and footpath maintenance but the Parish Council always endeavours to keep the precept as low as possible.

Casual Vacancy: As Mr John Pritchard has deserted us and moved to Cliffords Mesne there is now a vacancy for a councillor. Statutory Notices were displayed on the three noticeboards advertising the vacancy for fourteen days from 5 November to 25 November 2009. Providing no electors have requested an election the Council can co-opt a candidate. Should anyone be interested in becoming a councillor please write to the Clerk before 31 December 2009 expressing the wish to be considered for co-option on to the Parish Council.

The Parish Council was very sorry to lose John. He has done invaluable work over the time he has been a councillor and will be very much missed. The Chairman, Clerk and councillors expressed their thanks to him at the November Meeting and wished him and his wife Ann every happiness in their new home.

BT red telephone kiosks: The Parish Council has decided not to adopt any of the three telephone kiosks in the area due to the continuing costs on upkeep that this would create. They are already in a very poor state and in need of renovation. The kiosks will therefore eventually be removed by BT.

Noticeboards: A reminder that no advertising for private or commercial businesses should be displayed on the three noticeboards. Any such advertising will be removed.

The Parish Council wishes everyone a happy Christmas and New Year.

The next Parish Council Meeting will be held on Wednesday 13 January 2009 at 7.30 pm. in the Village Hall.
