MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING: RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting held on Monday 13th July, 2009 were approved as a correct record and signed by the Chairman with amendments relating to an omitted item which resolved that a domain name be registered by the Council and a correction that Cllr Chris Flaherty had in fact sent her apologies. 44. MATTERS ARISING: Leylandi Trees, Whirlow Road - these had now been pruned back. Footpath by Berkeley School - The Clerk to remind Charlie Griffiths at Cheshire East. Rope Lane Bridge - no response on the matter of the fencing or rogue tree. Potholes in Gresty Lane, Eastern Road Area - some potholes had been infilled. Wybunbury United Charities - Cllr Gage reported that this year funds had been successfully allocated and the remaining balance may just allow one more book grant. 45. ENVIRONMENTAL MATTERS/PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: Gerard Baldwin, Manager of Shavington Sports Centre updated the Council on the progress of the new Interactive Sports Suite and gave Councillors and the Police a tour of the now prepared area. Equipment was to be installed shortly with an official opening on 11th November and open for public use on 21st November.
He funding form the Parish Council was ready for issue and Gerard Baldwin was asked if he could identify any further needs in relation for the facility so that the Parish Council could consider granting further funding for the use of the community. 46. POLICE MATTERS PCSO Peter Corbett & PCSO Charlotte Pound attended the meeting and gave a report of police related issues in Rope since the last meeting. The main issue was parking in the area of Berkeley School during pick up and drop off times. PCSO Corbett would contact Highways to enquire whether any double yellow lines could be placed in the area in order to give clearer enforcement powers.
Peter would follow up the issue of students from Shavington High School riding irresponsibly on bikes with the Deputy Head.
PCSO Peter Corbett would contact Robert Dodd in relation to parking arrangements that were in place for the Circus at present on the field.
