South Willingham South Willingham is a small attractive village nestling in the lee of the Lincolnshire Wolds within the designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It reflects a mixture of architectural styles from medieval to modern. There are several good examples of vernacular building within the village, along with two whitewashed thatched cottages that add charm and distinction. At the centre of the village can be found St Martin's Church dating from the 13th century. It contains a mixture of styles having a Perpendicular west tower, a Victorian nave, and a Early English chancel. Although the village has lost many of its small businesses over time its main asset and attraction is its community spirit that extends well into the community and further afield. The events staged in the village hall are exceptional being organised by the village hall committee and supported not only by our village but also by the surrounding villages. The village produces a quarterly newsletter keeping every one up-to date with events, walks, parish council news, history, and articles by people in the village.
