What is a Parish Plan?

It is a 3-5 year vision of how our community wants to develop

It identifies the actions needed to achieve our vision

Why is it important?

Because it offers our community the opportunity to formulate development plans based on consultation with ALL parish residents

What sort of issues can it contain?

Any social, economic or environmental aspects of our community WE believe are important to improve the Quality of life in Stapeley & District

For example:

Housing

Roads & Transport

Access to services

Green Spaces & Play areas

Play groups, childcare, after school clubs

Community halls

Building Guidelines- to ensure designs and uses for new projects are compatible with existing installations and their residents

Support for local business development

AND ANYTHING ELSE WE WOULD WANT TO INCLUDE- Even if there was little prospect of achieving it!!

The plan should include our short, medium and long term aims:

litter bins, signage, street furniture

Community hall, Children's play areas, local policing, street lighting, traffic calming measures, bus services

School, Library, Park ???

What do we need to do now?

We need to set up a steering group of 4-8 people to prepare our plan, which will include some parish councillors-BUT WILL NOT BE LED BY THE PARISH COUNCIL to show that it is truly community inspired
