Parish Council Meeting Report.
We had rather a depleted council meeting this time due to the busy time of the year, especially the farmers and those getting ready to greet visitors this coming season.
However all the various issues and matters were discussed and acted on.
We had a number of planning applications to be looked at in the area. They are listed in the Reminder so if you would like to see them they are always available for perusal in the Moot Hall.
We have received all the building specifications and regulations from the Architect, concerning the Recreation Hall project which means that this committee can move a step forward and look at available funding for the project.
Fisher Place now have part of the new Waste Water Treatment Plant which will start to solve the problems of smells especially during the warmer months. United Utilities have tidied up the field so when the grass grows no-one will know it?s there!
Keswick Historical Society are going to repair and then replace again two of the Parish Milestones. One at the junction of Shrundraw and Burns, and the other by Storms Farm, they give the miles to Keswick and of course were on the old road before the A66 was built.
All the ladder stiles have been replaced by smart new gates on the footpath across the fields between The Nest and Castlerigg Stone Circle. There are also new gates on the paths through Rakefoot. I expect there are others but we have not all been on all the footpaths in the parish recently. The National Park have been very busy and our thanks to them.
Our next meeting s also the Annual Parish Meeting at the end of May.
Sally.
