UPDATE ON COTTAGE SALE

During September and October, considerable publicity was given to the proposal to dispose of the 2 bedroomed cottage to the rear of the Hall overlooking the burgages. The building has been empty for over two years and the Hall Committee felt it served no purpose in terms of the Hall's core business, hence the proposal to sell.  After seeking views from all sections of the village, the result was that the cottage will shortly be placed on the market through a local estate agent. The process involved has been vetted by Alnwick Community Council and the Charity Commission. The proceeds from the sale of the building will be placed in a secure account and the interest alone will be recycled into the Hall's current account for refurbishment improvements.
