Welcome to Westward Parish Westward is one of the largest parishes in the Allerdale area. It consists of the villages of Westward, Rosley and Curthwaite. There are two churches within the villages of Westward and Rosley both located next to our two well supported village halls. The Church of England school at Rosley is a lovely country school, with a nursery attached.
At Curthwaite you will find the only remaining Public House where everyone is also made welcome. Westward parish is a very rural area with many residents being farmers or employed within the farming network. The parish is one of the seven parishes within the Northern Fells Rural Community and Development Group (or Northern Fells Group) area. The NFG provide minibus transportation to those who require help, provide a 'lend a hand' service and advise and assist in many other areas.
